Hilary Easton's choreography has been often praised for its intelligence and spark. The work investigates the complexity of the human condition through deft choreographic structure and dynamic physicality. The company has been presented since 1992 at venues including American Dance Festival, The Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church, Dance Theater Workshop, PS 122, The Center for Contemporary Arts of Santa Fe, Women and Their Work, The University of Texas, Bennington College, Central Park Summerstage, The Yard, and Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors. The Company's work has been hailed by The New York Times as “visionary in its simple affirmation of the magic of art and the human spirit”, and by The Village Voice as “marvelous and deeply thoughtful."
The company premiered Nothing is Perfect, Nothing is Finished at the Gibney Dance Center. Recent engagements include the premiere of Radiator at Gibney, and I Am With You, a work for 14 dancers ranging in age from 14-38 at the Danspace Project at St. Mark's Church, the premiere of The Constructors at The Baryshnikov Arts Center, as well as performances at Carnegie Hall, Simon's Rock College, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Roger Williams University, The Danspace Project
at St. Mark's Church, Mount Tremper Arts, The Clark Theater/Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, and The Duke Theater/New 42nd Street.
The company has been honored with awards including the Paul Taylor Fellowship, and grants from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, The Mertz Gilmore Foundation, The Jerome Foundation, The Harkness Foundation for Dance, The Bossak-Heilbron Foundation, The Maxine Greene Foundation for Social Imagination, the Arts, and Education, Meet The Composer, and The Manhattan Community Arts Fund.
